Waddell & Reed Helps “Top Out” the Saint Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute
September 20, 2018
On August 27, 2018, the Saint Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute reached a noteworthy milestone toward its completion next year. At the “Topping Out Ceremony” on the campus of Saint Luke’s South at 123rd and Metcalf in Overland Park, the final steel beams were put into place atop the impressive structure – but not before getting a final sign-off from Saint Luke’s supporters, among them Waddell & Reed.
Adorning the commemorative beams with their signatures were Brent Bloss, Waddell & Reed Chief Operating Officer, and Kathy Richman Wallace, VP Sales Development for Ivy Investments and member of the Board of Directors for Saint Luke’s South Hospital.
Slated for completion in mid-2019, the state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Institute will help more than 1,200 patients reclaim function and independence each year. It will offer multidisciplinary, personalized treatment and leading-edge neurorobotic equipment unique to the region, plus the latest clinical trials for technologies and therapies.
“Waddell & Reed is honored to be a strong supporter of this ground-breaking initiative,” Bloss said. “The ability for our families to have access to these key resources speaks to our priorities as a growing and caring community.”
A well-established corporate resident of the Kansas City area, Waddell & Reed genuinely embraces the importance of giving back to the community. The company believes in building strong partnerships with local non-profit organizations that serve others throughout Kansas City and the region.
