Our employees are eligible for health insurance coverage effective on their very first day of employment. The Company offers a self-insured group medical plan that includes prescription drug coverage We also offer a dental plan, a vision plan, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, employee assistance program and a robust wellness program that contains many incentives and benefits. Group Medical Plan
Eligibility begins on the first day of employment, with the company offering two different benefit plan options for medical coverage. Employees can choose between a High Deductible Health Plan and a traditional PPO plan. Both plans use the same national network of providers and cover preventive care at 100%, so it’s all about choosing the plan that is best for you and your family. Both plans offer a wellness program designed to help you lead a healthier lifestyle. Each plan offers in-network and out-of-network benefits allowing for greater flexibility and personal responsibility in health-care choices.
Prescription Drug Coverage
Prescription drug coverage is included as part of the Group Medical Plan. On-line resources are available to help you find lower cost alternatives to save you money, along with drug information and possible side effects.
We encourage employees and their families to take an active role in their health through exercise, nutrition and preventive care. We offer a Wellness Program that is an active, fully integrated global program designed to engage, encourage and reward you on your personal pathway to better health. Engaging in activities and health screenings earns you points you can use to buy merchandise and other items and can add incentives directly to your pay check!
Group Dental Plan
The dental plan includes a large national network of providers and covers preventive and diagnostic services, in addition to comprehensive coverage for many restorative services and orthodontics for dependent children.
The vision plan utilizes a large national network of providers and covers eye exams as well as glasses and contacts. Employees can keep their eyes healthy and get great savings on glasses, contacts and laser vision correction.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Employees can set aside a portion of their pay on a pre-tax basis up to the annual IRS limits to cover unreimbursed medical expenses or to pay for dependent day care expenses, providing significant tax savings. Employees who participate in the PPO plan or opt for no health plan coverage can contribute to an healthcare FSA to help pay for eligible health care expenses. Eligible employees can also contribute pre- tax dollars to a dependent care FSA to help pay for eligible dependent day care expenses. We also offer a Limited Purpose FSA for those enrolling in the High Deductible Healthcare Plan and a Parking/Transit FSA for those who have qualified commuter expenses.
Health Savings Accounts (HSA)
HSA accounts are available for those who elect coverage in the High Deductible Healthcare Plan. Pre-tax contributions can be made through payroll deduction into this individual account which can have a triple-tax advantage. HSA dollars can be used to pay for qualified out-of-pocket healthcare expenses now and in the future.
Employee Assistance Program
Waddell & Reed understands that significant changes can impact an employee's life and cause issues that are stressful to handle. Consequently, Waddell & Reed offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) which provides short-term, confidential, professional counseling and services to employees and their eligible dependents. Our EAP also provides work-life resources, including coaching in behavioral changes.
On-site Fitness Center
Who doesn’t benefit from a little exercise, or just working off some tension or energy? Just for those occasions, we offer a fitness center on campus at a small charge to employees. The center includes lockers and showers, free weights, a treadmill, stationary bike, rowing machine and hoist. In addition, our Wellness Program offers membership discounts and a gym rebate program for a variety of fitness centers to those eligible employees enrolled in our medical plan.
